Evolution and a willingness to embrace the inevitable change of the advertising industry are the themes of R/ADWEEK 2019, presented by the Rochester Advertising Federation. The third annual R/ADWEEK returns to Rochester November 11-15, 2019.
Presented by the Rochester Advertising Federation, R/ADWEEK is a five-day series of special events and programs featuring local and national creative leaders and speakers. The goal of R/ADWEEK is to inspire and educate members of the Rochester advertising community through informative speakers, thoughtful panel discussions and sessions designed to elicit a conversation on the role of authenticity in advertising today.
R/ADWEEK 2019 features a series of events, speakers and educational programs focused on the theme of evolution in advertising, encouraging attendees to keep a constant eye on innovation. The robust schedule of week long programming begins with an hour of reflection and yoga with YOGA 4 a Good Hood. Attendees will join Imani Olear, Founder & Executive Director, and begin the week by reflecting on how we can be a more mindful and inclusive ad community.
Daily Lunch and Learns will be offered in partnership with local ad agencies, including JAY Marketing & Communications, Helen & Gertrude and Truth Collective.
Evening programs during the week include a special edition of 40 Minutes and Beer, an extended edition of the RAF’s monthly- networking and speaker series. The R/ADWEEK edition will feature Norma Holland and Jonathan Schoeck from Digital Hyve discussing the changing face of the marketing industry, and changing expectations about what a company can do for a brand. Wednesday evening features a special tour of the state-of-the-art facility at Magic Spell Studios at RIT, sponsored by Optic Sky.
The featured keynote address of the week will be delivered by Carly Potock, Global Creative Partnerships Team Lead at Google. On Thursday, November 14, Potock will deliver a keynote on how successful brands raise their hands for a chance to compete in the attention economy, boldly winning the attention of their audiences by trusting the trifecta of creativity, data, and gut.
The week concludes on Friday, November 15, with a panel discussion on the evolution of talent attraction and retention, sponsored by Partners & Napier. A celebratory happy hour will conclude the week at the Firehouse Saloon. Tips collected at the event will support Yoga 4 a Good Hood.
